I found that creating jewelry brought me joy and strength
Yael Lerner, a 17-year-old jewelry designer from Haifa, has turned her passion into a powerful source of inspiration. While undergoing treatment for leukemia at Rambam Health Care Campus (Rambam) in Haifa, Israel, Yael began and continues to create and sell handcrafted jewelry—transforming her love for design into a meaningful venture.
Several weeks ago, Yael set up a jewelry booth at Rambam’s weekly Open Market where she received an overwhelming response from visitors and staff alike. Her designs, which she describes as deeply personal and inspired by her life experiences, have gained attention from customers of all ages.
“I started designing jewelry four years ago as a hobby,” Yael shares. “Even during my treatment, I found that creating jewelry brought me joy and strength. Now, I hope to turn this into a business and keep doing what I love.” Recognizing her talent and determination, the team at the Joan & Sanford Weill Division encouraged Yael to showcase her work, providing the opportunity to share her art with a wider audience.
