Tireless dedication to fundraising
The inspiration
British Friends of Rambam Medical Centre was established in 1993 and has since raised several million pounds in support of the Rambam Health Care Campus.
Anita Alexander-Passe has served as the Director of British Friends of Rambam since its founding in 1993. Married for 55 years, she is the mother of two sons and a daughter, and grandmother to eight. She travels regularly to Israel to visit the hospital, as well as friends and family. Through her dedication and tireless fundraising, British Friends of Rambam has contributed significant funds over more than three decades. The charity’s name appears throughout the hospital on donated equipment, including an incubator dedicated to the memory of the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
Fostering collaboration between British and Israeli medical teams
Born in London in 1931, Anita is listed in The Who’s Who of The Jewish Year Book and is a respected speaker and fundraiser. She also helped initiate professional exchanges between Homerton Hospital in Hackney and the Rambam Medical Centre in Haifa, fostering collaboration between British and Israeli medical teams.

Gabriella Alexander-Passe
Gabriella is a qualified accountant (FCA, FCCA) specialising in accountancy and tax for both UK and non-domiciled individuals, as well as for companies. She has served as the Treasurer of British Friends of Rambam for many years, bringing her deep financial expertise and long-standing commitment to the organisation.
Gabriella often describes herself as a “tax therapist,” and her dedication to her work means she is frequently found at her desk late into the evening. She also volunteers as a financial assistant for her synagogue, supporting its community activities.
In her spare time, Gabriella enjoys playing tennis and seeing friends, and she is the mother of two grown-up daughters.
Samantha Rose
Samantha has been a Trustee of British Friends of Rambam for the past 15 years. She and her family made Aliyah when she was 10, and she spent her formative years growing up in Israel before returning to the UK in her twenties.
With a background in marketing and media, Samantha has worked with several charities and brings extensive experience in community engagement and communications. She serves on the Council of her synagogue and is actively involved in charitable initiatives, including running a weekly Rummikub club for synagogue members.
Samantha is also the mother of two grown-up sons.
